RFC-004: Open Items Convergence Closure Ledger (Q1 2026)

  • Status: Closed
  • Date: 2026-02-09
  • Owner: DX/Core
  • Scope: Historical closure ledger for the final convergence items after RFC-002 and RFC-003
  • Inputs:
  • docs/architecture/CODE-ANALYSIS-REPORT.md
  • docs/architecture/RFC-001-dx-ux-governance.md
  • docs/architecture/RFC-002-code-health-remediation-q1-2026.md
  • docs/architecture/RFC-003-generate-decomposition-q1-2026.md

1. Context

RFC-004 was the last-mile convergence track for the Q1 2026 DX/refactor line.

It existed to close: 1. the final generate decomposition merge (G6) 2. documentation status drift across RFCs 3. the remaining high-impact structural items from RFC-001 risk controls 4. the docs auto-update PR once the status sync had landed

That work is now complete on main. This document should be read as a historical closure ledger, not an active execution plan.

2. Mechanical Status Table (source of truth)

Item Status Reference Merge SHA Date
RFC-003 G6 Merged PR #271 f21c85ef 2026-02-10
O2 docs status convergence Merged PR #273 37f25c2c649436e708eea9783af4a0bd2c021189 2026-02-10
O3/O4/O5 convergence (monitor split, typed hot path, parity fence) Merged PR #274 294388b2f74646e1aee419815eb384ec5e19eb04 2026-02-09
O6 docs auto-update Merged PR #272 efd725b4c66fb201ffd3c917a85e62808f39e2c1 2026-02-10

3. Closed Items

O1 — RFC-003 G6 merge completion

Closed by PR #271 (f21c85ef, 2026-02-10).

Result: - generate.rs decomposition line fully closed through G6 - RFC-003 is complete

O2 — Documentation status convergence

Closed by PR #273 (37f25c2c649436e708eea9783af4a0bd2c021189, 2026-02-10).

Result: - RFC-001, RFC-002, RFC-003, and the Code Analysis report were mechanically aligned to merged/open facts at that time - RFC-004 became the canonical evidence table for the Q1 convergence line

O3 / O4 / O5 — Structural convergence

Closed together by PR #274 (294388b2f74646e1aee419815eb384ec5e19eb04, 2026-02-09).

Result: - monitor.rs monolith was decomposed behind characterization tests - typed hot-path mapping was tightened so legacy substring classification was no longer the primary hot-path mechanism - run/ci parity fences landed as explicit contract tests

O6 — Docs auto-update

Closed by PR #272 (efd725b4c66fb201ffd3c917a85e62808f39e2c1, 2026-02-10).

Result: - the pending docs refresh was merged after the status-convergence pass - RFC-004 no longer has any open item attached to it

4. Outcome

RFC-004 is closed because all of the original exit conditions are now true on main:

  1. RFC-003 closed through G6
  2. Q1 RFC/doc status drift was reconciled
  3. remaining structural P1 convergence items were merged
  4. the docs auto-update follow-up was also merged

5. Residual Posture

There are no remaining open execution items under RFC-004.

What remains after RFC-004 belongs to newer lanes: - release/changelog hygiene - repo-wide roadmap truth sync - BYOS Phase 1 closure under ADR-015 - any future performance work only if Wave C is re-opened by fresh measurements

6. Out of Scope

  • New runtime capabilities
  • New policy surfaces
  • Retroactive reclassification of the original code-analysis findings without a new audit snapshot
